About

Hi. I'm Denys, an IT guy and sports enthusiast. I'm building 1MinuteWorkout — a platform for ultra-short workouts you can do right at your desk instead of doom-scrolling. My ultimate goal: make working out as addictive and fun as possible.

Here's my story.

I've been into sports my whole life. Soccer, volleyball, table tennis — you name it. And yet, I move like I'm rusting from the inside. I'm only 43. Since early childhood I've been passionate about competitive sports, especially team sports. It was easy to attend training sessions and tournaments. I'm still playing in local amateur futsal tournaments with younger teammates. I even forced myself into regular HIIT sessions with a coach — but only because it directly benefits my futsal performance, and because I have a good friend who attends with me, so it's hard to abandon him. But when it comes to "boring" routines — yoga, stretching, mobility work, skills like handstand, etc. — I fail miserably. I blame ADHD, but whatever. Add "sitting 8 hours a day as a nerd-developer" to this and you've got the picture. Futsal in the evening or HIIT in the morning couldn't save me. That's why my mobility range has narrowed dramatically over the past 10 years.

Crying about posture

And my posture? That deserves its own chapter. In childhood I was extremely shy. When I entered a room I tried to become as small as possible — rounded shoulders and nerd neck were almost inevitable. Then it became a vicious circle: insecurity made my shoulders rounder and neck longer, which led to even more insecurity.

I'm not sure how I managed to get such a beauty as my wife. Probably the trick "never turn your side to her" worked ;)

After getting married I naturally got relaxed about posture. No need to conquer anyone anymore.

And only now I realize I'm slowly approaching the point of no return — where my spine is ruined and I start moving like a 90-year-old.

Now that my daughter is already 2, she's starting to copy me. That's another motivation to change things.

The time trap

But the worst part: I can't afford more time for sports. I can't abandon futsal. I can't ditch HIIT. And since I have a small kid and no village to help — just me and my wife — I can't cut family time either.

So when I first heard about the concept of exercise snacks, it struck me as a potential solution — for my present and future self, starting with posture and mobility.

The experiment

This site is my living experiment with quick workouts and the tools I'm building around them.

Can 1–3 minute workouts, done consistently during the workday, actually improve posture, mobility, and how you feel? And can I make them addictive enough to actually stick?

I'm not a fitness expert, doctor, or influencer who can fix your problems for you. I'm a regular IT guy who can't make himself do yoga for more than three days straight. I'm building this for myself first — and sharing what I learn along the way with whoever finds it interesting and useful.

My first challenge — probably for all of 2026 — is posture and mobility. Can I rebuild myself with short workouts, and stop being the biggest nerd-necker on the right bank of the Dnipro River? And finally like myself in photos?

Can I make myself consistent despite ADHD and all the busiest days imaginable? Can working out on a regular basis be as addictive as Witcher 3?

Let's find out!
